Your bank already tells you every purchase. Let Kuentaly log it.
Every time your bank emails you a purchase alert, Kuentaly reads it and adds the expense, with the merchant, the amount and the card, waiting for your OK. No typing, no bank password and no access to your whole inbox.
Automatic bank alerts are part of Premium (from $3 CAD a month) and included in the 7-day trial.

Pick the way that fits you
Three ways to get your bank's alerts into Kuentaly. Choose one, set it up once and forget about it.
- iPhone Shortcuts. A one-time Mail automation sends the text of your bank's alerts to your private Kuentaly address. It takes a couple of minutes and Kuentaly never touches your inbox.
- Forward your emails. Guided steps for Gmail, with the confirmation code captured automatically, and for Outlook or Hotmail with rules.
- Connect Gmail or Outlook. Kuentaly fetches only emails from bank senders, when you open the app, when you come back to it and every 5 minutes while it is open.
- Android: connecting Gmail or Outlook or forwarding works. Reading other apps' notifications is not possible from a web app.
Set up once. Sends the alert text to your private address.
Guided for Gmail and Outlook.
Only bank senders are fetched.
You confirm. Nothing is posted behind your back
Each alert lands in “To confirm” as a ready-made entry. You check it, pick a category and accept.
- Only part of the charge is yours? Edit the amount before it posts; the note keeps the original.
- Bill payments, like the one that pays your credit card, arrive as transfers between your accounts, not as expenses.
- Duplicates are discarded, even if the first copy is already confirmed.

It reads by content, and learns the rest
Kuentaly does not depend on one template per bank. It finds the amount, the merchant, the card's last four digits and the time in English, Spanish or French, and it ignores balances, promotions and personal email.
- Paste any alert into “Test with an email” to see exactly how it was read before you trust it.
- Tap “It's from my bank” to add a sender once and it is recognized from then on.
- Purchases, deposits, Interac e-Transfers and PayPal receipts are covered.

Wallet payments too
On iPhone, a second automation sends your Wallet payments (merchant, amount and card) to the same “To confirm” list, so tap-to-pay shows up even before the bank's email does.
- Apple triggers it only for in-store payments.
- Refunds arrive with a negative amount.
- The app has a step-by-step guide with screenshots.

A notification the moment it arrives
Turn on real-time notifications and your phone buzzes as soon as a new alert is waiting for your OK. It works for every route above: Shortcuts, forwarded emails and Gmail.
- On iPhone, install Kuentaly on your home screen first; Apple requires it for web notifications.
- You choose when to turn them on or off.

Your email is read, not kept
The server reads each alert and saves only the transaction. Anything that is not a transaction (personal email, ads, balances) is thrown away without saving anything.
- Kuentaly never asks for your bank password.
- With Gmail or Outlook it only fetches emails from bank senders.
- You can delete all your data and your account with one button.

Frequently asked questions
How does Kuentaly get my bank's alerts?
Three ways: an iPhone Shortcuts automation that sends the text of your bank's emails to your private Kuentaly address, forwarding those emails, or connecting Gmail or Outlook so Kuentaly fetches only bank emails.
Does Kuentaly need my bank password or my whole inbox?
No. It never asks for your bank password. With Shortcuts it only receives what you choose to send, and with Gmail or Outlook it only fetches emails from bank senders.
Does it store my emails?
No. The server reads each alert and saves only the transaction: type, amount, merchant, card and time. Emails that are not transactions are discarded.
Do expenses post on their own?
They arrive as entries in “To confirm” and you accept them. You can fix the category or the amount first, and mark a bill payment as a transfer.
Which banks work?
Kuentaly reads alerts by their content in English, Spanish and French, so it is not limited to a list. If a sender is new, paste an alert into “Test with an email” and tap “It's from my bank”.
Does it work on Android?
Yes, with Gmail or Outlook connected or with forwarded emails. The Shortcuts and Wallet automations are iPhone-only, and a web app cannot read other apps' notifications.
How much does it cost?
You can try everything free for 7 days. Automatic bank alerts are then part of Premium, from $3 CAD a month.
